For most of us, putting on a fall flannel is the simplest way to look presentable as the temperature drops outside. But count on Fergie to put a “glamorous” spin on the season’s staple pattern.
The songstress was in London, Monday, for an appearance on BBC Radio 2, but just because it was an audio-only didn’t mean she sacrificed style.
Fergie bundled up in a red, white and black plaid jacket that buttoned around the collar. Underneath, she donned denim shorts with tights that showed off her legs. She kept her top simple, opting for a black shirt.
Fergie capped off the look with dark boots, a large bag and sunglasses.
Earlier this month, PEOPLE caught up with the fashion trailblazer at the relaunch of The Cove, the luxury resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, before she hit the stage to perform for a star-studded crowd.
“It’s all over the map just like my music,” Fergie shared of her ever-changing style. “It’s a mood. I like to have fun with fashion and take risks. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t but I have fun with it and I like to always feel good in what I’m wearing.”
The 42-year-old singer added that she she only follows one fashion mantra: “You got to wear the outfit and not let the outfit wear you.”
“So if I’m wearing something that is extravagant, I’m owning it,” she continued.

Fergie, who split from husband Josh Duhamel after eight years of marriage in September, said she was going through her own personal transformation and found the process of making music cathartic while recording her new album.
“It’s therapeutic and I really want to feel something. Not just a little bit, I like to go big — go big or go home when it comes to emotion,” the star shared. “Basically that goes into everything I do.”
